What IS Mental Fitness Counseling?

You are NOT weak and you are NOT broken.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who offers traditional therapy, but with a goal of helping you tap into your own resilience and mental strength on your healing journey.

 

Just like our bodies require regular physical care, so do our minds. My innovative counseling approach will help you learn how to care for your mental health and pursue mental fitness in a way that helps you live the life you want to.

Why Do We Wait?

I realized that there are several things regarding mental health that we have not gotten right yet. We often wait until our mental health is bad enough that it surfaces as a physical problem or we wait until our relationships are damaged beyond repair.

 

Eventually we develop immune problems or experience physical pain so we go to the doctor. If mental health is causing these symptoms, there will not be a good medical explanation or solution to the problem. We end up taking one or more medications chasing symptom relief but ultimately avoiding the ACTUAL cause. We may go on and off medications several times over a period of years but the trend is downward.

Long Term Solution

That's when becoming mentally fit can actually create long term solutions and relief. Becoming mentally fit is an active and engaging process that leads to a sense of relief and control.

INDIVIDUAL

THERAPY

Individual therapy is offered for adults and teenagers ready to start their journey towards mental fitness. Clients may choose to meet weekly or biweekly, depending on their individual therapy needs and goals. 

 

Sessions are available via telehealth or in-person. In-person sessions are located in Sterling, CO.

GROUP

THERAPY

Groups can be a powerful platform for change especially when conducted by a trained and experienced facilitator. Practice the tools that you have learned individually or connect with others who have wisdom to share.

It's more likely that you have told the story of that time 3 months ago when you were so bored you decided to do something new or you decided to tackle that challenge you have been putting off.

 

I think there is something to that and I have a passion for training you to think in new ways, set better boundaries with all of the electronic devices in your life, and to align your values with your actions so that you live the fulfilling life you want.
